algorithmic modeling for Rhino

i have  simple problem in rhino.for doing khabazi's tutrial page 88(column example).all of my free form surfaces in rhino becom 2-d .means in sectoin my surface seems a line!!but i shoud draw 3-d free form surface please help me.

dear jerrimo take a look at khabbazi's second eddition tutrial, page 88 i don't know how to draw its 3-d freeform curvature surface maybe it is so simple but i am starter in both grass&rhino it made me so difficulty. i search at rhino tutrial( second part )but don't get my answer i appreciate if you help me

hi elham, there are several ways to create freeform surfaces in rhino. In the toolbar menu surfaces you find different commands to create surfaces.

In the menu help you find the commandhelp where you can see how the commands are working.
I would suggest create a planar surface and use the cage command to shape the surface

If you want to modify the surface ad a specific area then use the controlpoints to modify the surface

If the contolpoints are not enough you can enlarge the number of isocurves through the command "rebuild surface".
