Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey, I'm rather new at grasshopper and I started working on it because I need to achieve something like the Min/Day's Stone Table (see attachments). On their website says they did it on grasshopper, but I've no idea how!

I don't really mind about the rounded edges on the bottom, I just need to know how to generate this voronoi volumes, and hopefully learn how to get some space or offset between them afterwards.

Please, help! Thanks

limiting - no.
qconvex gives the convex hull of the points (one cell). you can calculate the center point of each cell (brep area) and then see if it is in a given distance from a point, or in a brep, etc and cull the rest.

you have to change the path in the qconvex as well for it to work.
a is nothing important, b and d you got right, and c are the voroni vertexes in trees (per cell).

Hi Psymila,

I have looked at the link you have for "thearchitech..." and I remembered a site I came across that sells such objects. They have some Voronoi type objects (panels). They are flat but they say they can do any 3d shape. They also have the water drops shown in your link.

Have a look in:

I hope you find this interesting.

Jim

ah ok...i had thought at that culling method too(for point on a line).
Thank you very much Dimitrie!
Have a nice day
