Closest Point TO curve (boundary curve of point list)

Hi guys,

I am trying to draw a curve which would go through all the points that are on the outer edge of a list of point.

First i need to extract them from the list and sort them out:

I created a curve from a bounding box which i could use to define the closest points to this curve from the list but i don't know how to do this.

"Curve closest point" would create a point for all of them when i only want the closest ones to this curve. Would you have any suggestion?

I hope this makes sense

Thanks,

arthur

I could even use the delauney mesh edge as a curve to check for closest point actually...
but then again how would you extract the edge of a delauney mesh and find the closest point to this edge...
I had a go at doing this the other day, it uses a few script components to sort the outlined points into the correct order for a curve without messy kinks. Definitions on the blog - at the moment it also requires kangaroo to get rid of duplicates.
