algorithmic modeling for Rhino
If Ching's link doesn't fix it. Can you post the Error Message that was displayed? It might help to narrow down the problem
i push the icon help on rhino then plug-ing then grasshopper , finally nothing happen. it opens only an internet page that redirect me on the homepage of this site. My rhino version is 4.0 SR8. and i've istalled the Microsoft VC++ Runtimes 64bit
To start Grasshopper you need to type "grasshopper" into the command line of Rhino
do you know how can i put grasshopper into the command line?i tried but i couldn't!thank you
You press the following keys on your keyboard:
Then press Enter. Rhino is a command line application, meaning all actions (or "commands") are triggered by typing in the name of that action. Grasshopper is just another plug-in for Rhino which adds a bunch of new commands, one of which -the "Grasshopper" command- displays the main Grasshopper window.

thank youuuuuu!!!i made it!!
:-)
err... what's swarm? Come to think of if what's all the others that I've never seen?
Those are actually hidden commands. They don't do much, or, if they do, they don't do it well. It's long term stuff I'm working on or stuff that helps me debug.
GrasshopperSwarm and GrasshopperAppStore are first stabs at a unified Grasshopper plugin explorer. It was started before Food4Rhino but has been on the backburner for a long time.
GrasshopperBake is a command that is invoked during the baking of Grasshopper geometry. Unfortunately it needs to be there for Bake to work correctly, but at least I can hide it.
GrasshopperRegisterExtensions will, well, register all Grasshopper file extensions (gh, ghx, gha, ghuser, ghcluster) with Windows Explorer.
Everything else is for debugging.

Just out of curiosity.. How come you have never introduced an icon for the program's initialization. Don't get me wrong I prefer type-ins I don't like toolbars and icons.. But I came to wonder some time ago.
marios T is right. that's strange
When Grasshopper was introduced, almost all users were already heavy Rhino users and were used to using the command line to load plugins and so on. Probably the last thing on the users or developers mind was to add new toolbar buttons or shortcuts.
But this has changed now. These days, the majority of people I come across interested in using GH know nothing or little of Rhino and anything they learn of Rhino is only to be able to use GH (I guess this is your case).
It might be time to add a GH desktop shortcut.
Welcome to
Grasshopper
