Series move

I'm creating a railing pattern using the a series component with grasshopper It is my understanding that the series component is actually moving the reference object, is there a way to isolate some of the moves in the series to change.. ie if I have a series that is coping (moving) a line three times is there a way to modify the length of line 2 in the series
