Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I have a problem with surface split command in grasshopper. please check the attached gh file, the subsurfaces still keep the surface structure of the original after you use surface split button to a surface. The question is how can I get an independent subsurface like the surface you did "shrink trimmed surface" command to a timmed surface in rhino?

does anybody have the same problem?

Thanks for your replys.

Hi Yin,
Everything is OK .
You can use the panel component to see output details .The missing four line in your case were marked as "null" items .
There was not one standard gh component can do work as ShrinkTrimmedSrf in rhino in my opinion .However ,you can rebuild one trimed surface in many ways such as extract boundary curves firstly .
Good luck .
Best wishes from Xi'an.

Thanks for your time.

I don't think that to rebuild one trimmed surface is a good way to get an accurate surface as before.

I'm trying to find another way out by VB script. If we can use VB script in grasshopper to run the command of "shrink trimmed surface" in rhino, which is a really good solution to those similar problems. Have a look at this link:http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/shrink-trimed-surface-to-...

thanks for your propose, mate.
