algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I'm trying to model an earring based on my initial design, concept of earring attached.

I planned to create fenestrations through Voronoi curves.

Since my model is not a planar surface, i projected my surface on XY plane, created voronoi curves on the planar surface and re-project / map the curves onto the subject model.

However, i'm not getting a desired result.

can any-1 please help me. or even show me a different way to model it via GH? I donot want to use rhino objects.

I have attached my initial sketch, GH and Rhino files.

Hope to find some solution so I could move forward :-(

Moreover, I could not convert the initial non-planar curves into surface hence I converted them into Mesh (thanks to 'Brian Harms' for helping me out). However, the protruding edges of the mesh is not a smooth NURB curve, it forms kind of vertices of a polygon. Any way to smoothen / fillet it? Will it affect when i commence 3D printing?

Regards,

aB

Igor,

Many thanks for your time and suggestion. However, for some reason nothing has worked so far for the curve that i have created. Now I have started to doubt my method of creating the complex curve.

If you look at the attached picture (using your definition), the surface created from the 'surface grid' component is not contained within the actual curve. The surface take a funny shape.

This has been my primary problem right from the start and hence i had to convert the curves into mesh 1st and then move forward (my previous definition is attached on previous post)

Could you please help? where am i going wrong fundamentally?

regards,

aB
