Transforming graph into rectangular dimensioned plan (algorithmic architecture...)

Hi,

Working on my thesis (dedicated to Algorithmic architecture) I just read an old article (published in 1988!!) which describes a method by which it was possible to transform a graph into a plan of a supposed architectural space...(the graph shows the relationship among spaces, and a predefined criteria would set sizes and dimenstiones...)

The most interesting part of the project for me, was the way they packed rectangles to fit in a specific area while the dimensions and aspects are kept in the limits of predefined values. (figure G, H and I in the attached pic.) I was wondering if it is possible to create a grasshopper definition that could do something like this...Does anybody have any idea?!
