Image sampler and attractors

'Morning everybody!

I am currently working on a non planar surface, panelized with a certain kind of geometry. I was wondering how to apply an image sampler and use it as a reference: where the image is white i will have the normal geometry panelized, where the image is darker I will have my geometry slightly forward from the base surface. I would like them to be kind of slightly more extruded than the geometry falling on the lighter range.
