Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I've been using Damien Alomar's animation tool in and animation i've been working on, and it has been very useful, but now i have reached a point where the tool needs to be edited and am posting to anyone who might be able to help.

The tool sets up a target path and a camera path, it also can change focal length. I need it to switch smoothley from perspective to parallel.

Help?

the definition is found at Damiens site: http://www.liquidtectonics.com/,

Thank you

As I understand it, its impossible to go from a parallel projection to a perspective one, or vice versa, in a completely smooth manner. However, you can "trick" a prespective viewport to look like a parallel one by using an insanely long focal length. And by insanely long I'm talking upwards of 400mm. Note that when you increase the focal length that much you will essentially be zooming in very close to your object, so if you want it to keep the same framing, then you'll have to move the camera point much farther away from your object than before.
