algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I would like to create a definition that attracts (or repels) curves themselves. Normally it seems the attractor acts on points at the center of the cells in a diagrid for example.. Is there a way to have the attractor act directly on a group of cells of whatever shape?

Thanks - this is very cool.. I wonder if this could be adapted to work on any geometry? For example if I had a packing of various sized circles and wanted to apply positive or negative charges here and there to move and distort them..

I'm thinking of something like the attractors in Paneling Tools where you can create your geometry and then apply the attractor. That works great because you can use your own geometry but the drawback is it has to be in a grid pattern in order to be paneled - I would like a bit more freedom in the geometry layout if possible..

To do something like that you could draw your circle pattern with respect to a reference surface and then try to remap (via uv coordinates) your circles to a distorted surface. I think that could work.
