algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I'm working on a huge project for university and currently busy with a facade.
I was asked to try "hundreds of options" and I thought it might be a good task for GH.
Basically, my facade is of a huge wall with lots of holes in it.
(I'm working on a grid because it's more comfortable for me, but if it's easier to do without it, It might change)
I tried before to create a definition that will randomally reduce some of the grid parts, but it gives messy facades.
I think that the big problem is how to make sure that the holes will not collide or touch.
I hope I explained myself good enough. I attach a Jpeg file so you can see my facade proportions, the grid and some of the options I tried so far - this is more or les how I want the facade to look like.

Thanks
have you tried the Paneling Tools?
I thought about that but I'm not very amiliar with that tool - Is it possible to create Panels in changing proportions? I'll also need both open and closed panels - is that possible?
Thanks a lot!!!
Hi Oz,
Here is a methodology:
1. take a surface
2. Panellize it (divide or isotrim)
3. Cull random
4. Scale remaining cells randomly or not (graph - attractors) from their centroids
5. Loft the grafted cells
6. Done
ps. you can also apply this process by geometry on random positions over the surface but to avoid overlapping between the holes is another story.

Thanks Marios!!
Sounds like a good solution.
I'll give it a try
Does anyone know how to make sure that the Random engine will not give the same number twice? I need to set the engine to produce about 5000 numbers so it will delete about 1000 items, and it's not very accurate.
