Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I am trying to work in a GH definition that creates stairs from given 2D curves, but I got stocked in the middle of the attempt.

I created two curve components, one for the stair boundary, and an other for the set of curves that define the steps.

I create a surface from the boundary curve, and split it using the step curves.

The problem comes when I try to rise up the resulting surfaces in Z direction, using a series component. The surfaces rise up in an uncontrolled disorder. What am I doing wrong?

I'd appreciate any help on that!

Thanks!

With the help of a fitCircle and Closest Point and its t parameter I ordered the Srfs new. have a look at my file Ask if you do not understand!

Best Regards

Hi DeDackel,

Thanks for your reply!

Your solution works perfectly with the example I attached first, but I tried another stair boundary with an S shape, and I get the same problem again. (see the image attached)

By the other hand, analysing your solution, I don't understand how do you know the degrees you need to rotate the "circle fit" component and why you do need to rotate it.

Thanks a lot!

Francesc.

Hey,

I have to leave now... I will explain you the t parameter tomorrow (if not remind me :-))
