Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

I haven't started to think of it yet, but I need the definition that analyse polyline (straight segments) curve and breaks it at kinks where angle between segments is greater (or smaller) than X.

Difficult or piece of cake?

Have a go and let us know :)

Now, when I spent a while working on it, I can say: I DON'T KNOW.

Anyone can help?

(I'm not trying to sound patronising) Well done for having a go before seeking help :)

This method uses the shift list component to allow you to measure the vector angle between the previous point and the next in an exploded polyline. Smaller than gets you a boolean list that you can cull pattern with to get CP to curve for the parameter to shatter at.

Hi Danny

I'm not GH monster like yourself. I know myself and if I don't have an idea for the working strategy I usually fail.

Thanks for your effort. I will check it soon.

I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve...

It was your opening statement that caused me to ponder your motives. I'm all for people learning through example, but I would like to think I'm not just doing the donkey work to no avail.

Check in on the Coffee + Grasshopper group, a question is being posted there daily to stimulate the grey matter. Areas in which you would not normally apply yourself. I particularly enjoyed the Delta Bot question from yesterday.

I can reassure you that my question did not come from laziness which I am far from.  I knew before I started that I should explode segments, measure angles and filter it and then join it again, but the shifting part stopped me so I called for help and the you appeared which I am grateful.
