Creating a Network of Roads from a Map?

Hi,

Does anyone know the best way to create a network of single lines to represent roads from a map?

I currently have a map which has the outlines of the paths, but I want a single line running down the centre of each road instead, so I can then use the Shortest Walk plug-in.

What's the best way of achieving this in grasshopper?
