Diagrid skipping a level

Hi,

I'm trying to create a diagrid between a number of line as per the example here: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~gwil/gendescom/post030/point_diagrid...

But, when applied, it skips between levels as seen on this image

I've attached my files for debugging.

Anyone?  I feel like it has to do with tree data, but I can't seem to wrap my head around what's going on...
