algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey  everyone, for my graduate project I have a definition that creates longitudinal/transverse/plan section cuts.  I have a set of floor plates that automatically updates with it (including the skin) and what I want to do is extract the top surface of each of the floor plates so I can divide them and get uv points.  I tried exploding then grafting but still couldn't get them.  Any suggestions?

I don't quite follow... You'll have to post some screengrabs showing what your floor objects look like to begin with.
assuming that by "floor plates" you mean that you have BReps, like polysurfaces, to represent the floor plates of the tower, and you just want the planar surface of each floor that faces upwards, not the other faces of the BReps . . .
then you should be able to explode the "floor plates", and use the list item component to select from the faces.
