algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Repeating a unit, linked to the previous one(s) controlling movement with slider. Need some help

Hi everyone. I'm doing a project using a folding element, which I've done manually as a test on paper, but I'm trying to get it done in GH. I've managed to to get one basic unit fully working, but now I need to add several and "chain" them, so that they can move together, like an accordion. I'm attaching a picture file, plus the rhino file and the GH definition.

I've already multiplied the element, using data duplicate and vectors, but the moment I "fold" the elements, they fold in their place instead of all together like an accordion. I would really appreciate some help in fixing this...

...and while we're at it, could anyone tell me if the way I did this (at least the single working unit) is ok, or if there is a more elegant/smarter way to do it?

Thanks a lot!
