Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi all

thx to Daniel's Kangaroo, i finally got an much easier way to do what i wanna do.

but here come's another problem.

in the first attached file, i succeeded to use kangaroo to generate only one line between same the pair of points. and i finish the first part of my point generating set.

however, when i tried to use Kangaroo the second time to generate lines between the first generation points, it just doesn't work.

is there anything wrong with my setting before the second Kangaroo interconnectPoints function in the red circle?

in the second attached file, i have 10 points of first generation points and 12 valid second generation points. i wanted to get the vectors between the first and second generation points for each of the 12 second generation points.

so each of the 12 would have a vector aimming at one different direction due to the different relative location to the 10 first generation points.

but everytime i connected the vector2Pt to move function, 12 points become multiple hundreds points instead of being 12 points moving towards 12 direction.

i try flaten, graft, but neither one works.

is there anything wrong with my setup?

Sorry, I don't know that I have an answer for you, but did I miss something? Is Kangaroo available? I have been dying to get my hands on it...
Hi Kai-Yu Yu,

Try passing your data through a 'Clean Tree' first.
I think I must have forgotten to put in a check for Null values in the incoming list. I'll sort this out for the next release.

Andrew - Sorry Kangaroo itself isn't out yet, he is referring to the few little preliminary tools for things like removing duplicate points that I posted here.
ahh, I see, thanks for the quick reply. Those little components look really useful, thanks for sharing them with the community - and keep up the good work on kangaroo, I eagerly await its release!
thanks Daniel,

to claify my confusion, did u mean "flatten" the data fisrt and then "graft" them to get different paths?
i'm new to Grasshopper and Rhino actually :P

best
KAI-YU
There is a component called 'Clean Tree' (the picture of the cherries)
which removes all the null items from the list. I think this might solve the problem.
hi Daniel

u r right, after using clean tree, the interconnectPt function worked.
thanks for your rapid response, patience and time as always.
really appreciate it.
