Merging closed intersecting curves with tangent arcs

Hi guys,

How would you create a single closed curve out of two arbitrary closed curves that have two intersecting points as shown in the image below?

I would also like to use something like Tangent Arcs (TArcs) to connect them nicely near the intersection points.

I haven't solved it, but I tried to portray the process I have in mind in the image below.

Input the 2 curves into a region union component and then fillet.
