Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi ...

I got a problem with contouring on my surface. Or as you can se, the result on the picture is fine, but because my figure is a furniture, the curve needs to be closed instead of open at the bottom. When i close my curves, my system goes out of function.

Can anybody help with this error?

It's kind of hard to troubleshoot without your actual definition, but I can say that I've experienced the error where I just can't get curves to join. Sometimes it might have to do with curve direction, but that's not always the case.

If you're sure that the problem isn't due to hidden tree data structure, then the one thing I can suggest would be to join surfaces to create the form of your furniture (i.e. base, sides and undulating surface).

Then when you section the BRep the curves should already be closed.
Well i uploaded the files here http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/435191f0689.rar

hope someone will try to help me solve the error. I'll try what you suggested. Thanks.
TJ,

I took a quick look.

In general you should turn on fancy wires (View > Draw Fancy Wires) to keep track of tree data, but your specific problem has to do with empty branches generated from sectioning.

All I've changed was to introduce [Clean Tree] with the settings as noted in the screengrab.
