The problem should go away if you install the MS Runtimes (2005 32 bit versions).

 

But this should have been rectified with Version 0.8.0060. Please can you say which version your are updating to and which are you updating from.

I did have a previous 08 version. It seems I cannot install MS runtimes (jpg), this is a company laptop. I can't get any version to run anymore, how can I restore the old version?

Your best bet is to have your IT department update your runtimes.

 

Otherwise here is a link to version 0.8.0011. You should always keep the installation files in a safe place as its very easy and quick to install you can swap around if you need.

I must have messed up, this one doesn't work either. With my first install i deleted the grasshopper folder and subdirs because it has no uninstaller. Was that stupid, is that causing it?

Can anyone help? How do i get the old grasshopper back? Is it a registry problem? How to perform a clean uninstall and install again?

Yes, same error window as in very 1st question. With the older version you recommended. I did not update C++ runtime. But the older version has worked so it should be possible to get it running again? Did my delete action of grasshopper dirs cause this?

Uninstalling Grasshopper typically happens via the windows Control Panel. If you removed the files manually, the Control Panel will still show the Grasshopper installation but once clicked will fail to start the uninstaller and should subsequently offer to remove Grasshopper from the list.

 

Grasshopper itself does not use the registry at all, but Rhino will store some information in the registry so that it remains 'aware' of Grasshopper. This however is not vital information and should not interfere with loading anything.

 

Are you absolutely certain that 0.8.0011 ran before but fails to do so now?

I am sure that it was an 08-version but not which one. I remember that the uninstaller did not work so i deleted the grasshopper dir and subdirs (not the plugin dirs) Rhino runs normal as always.

Any way that i can clean the mess and make it work?
