algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi every one
I am looking to orient my grid faces toward attractor point. But my problem is that each face independently orient toward attractor point. Do you know how I can fix it? I mean I want the entire grid integrated and faces near attractor point rotate toward as a coherent grid! Any help would be appreciated.

Hi behnaz, since I don't have the geometry you referenced, I'm guessing that you want to align all hexagons within the attractors' reach to just one vector, correct? How should the hexagons beyond the attractors' reach behave?
I created a new vector for the orientation, because a vector to the attractor would cause the affected surfaces to stay in the XYplane. Hope this kind of helps you. (could you upload your rhino file too, I'm curious (and a bit confused about your goal)).
Tnx Peter... I am if you just set a point in a Rhino file I ve just uploaded , u will see all faces in Hex grid seperatly orient toward attractor point... I am looking for something any movement of faces just affect neighbors faces... it means that the whole surface should remain but in this definition there are bunch of separated faces.
Hi Behnaz, I'm sorry, I still don't understand your goal. Did you say you wanted all the hexagons facing the same direction?
If this try is still not what you want, could you model your goal in rhino (with a very small grid of coarse, i.e. 5x5 cells)?
Peter,
tnx alot. I ve just uploaded to show what I mean exactly. as u can see, ther grid surface is still there, but the thing is that because faces try to rotate toward specific point some faces deformed! which is OK with me. Does it make scene?
I still don't get it Behnaz, the dark pieces are folded hexagons? What determins which hexagons will get this treatment? I'm real sorry but I'll really be needing more info and/or a 3D example to understand it.
(the other 65 people who read your question seem confused too;)
(and: is OK really good enough?)
