algorithmic modeling for Rhino
hello!
i have done a shape (red surface). now i want to fit a second shape (green surface) into the first one with vectors (deform tool). i do this with galapagos.
im not sure if i should use just three vectors or 20 vectors.
im not so familiar with galapagos and dont know exactly what settings are the best to do this
(i do this deformation to find out the vectors for another deformation of a complex constuction)
so if there are some galapagos experts around, please help me out!
thanks a lot!

Hi,
If you provide a sample rhino file would be nice to have it as Rhino 4.0.
not all of us use 5.0
thx
Richard
Hallo madmax
1.
I had a look at your code and maybe you can explain it a little more. Why exactly don't you just simply construct a shape within the boundary?
2.
Your fittness definition doesn't differentiate between inside and outside. A point that is outside of your red surface can be equaly as good as a point that is inside.
3.
Concerning the amounts of vektors to use, this is hard to answer, the less you have the smaller the number of possible combinations. But if you have only four and they can't deform your box in the right way than you will not find any solution..
hope that helps
(if using the latest grasshopper built you can use gene list instead of hundrets of sliders ..)
Richard
thanks for your answer!
1. i want to deform a point grid with vectors. (the points you see on the green surface are the abstract point grid)
i tried to use the bounding box, but there is just the twisted box so its useless. if you have another idea to deform a point grid, im open for your ideas.
2. do you how to put in a function that controlls if the points are in our outside?
how to use the gene list?
thank you for your help!!!
