algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Im very new to grasshopper/ Kangaroo etc...
So basically Im trying to construct a triangular tensegrity simplex, but replacing one set of cables with a membrane as the tensional element. In the attempt posted below i have tried using geometry gym to relax the mesh to give it a material quality, however haven't been successful ( its wobbles a bit, thats all). Should I relax it with kangaroo by using the strut ends as anchor points.... or perceiver with geometry gym
Anyway a bit stuck so any suggestions or examples would be excellent..
Thanks in advanced,
Jake

Hi Jake,
Does your university have access to any structural analysis software?
Robot is available free to students, I should test what results can be obtained with it's non linear solver.
I don't think native geometry gym components have sufficent functionality to accurately formfind this yet, I have seen examples of kangaroo with this though.
For interest, I set up a tensegrity test using Oasys gsa here:

Have a go with this
Thanks guys, this has been an excellent help.
Thanks for the files Daniel, makes alot more sense now- seems fairly simple too.
Jon, not sure about what software the uni has, we mainly work off our own laptops. Is Robot a plug in for grasshopper? never heard of it but definitely keen to have a go, especially as its free for students!
Thanks again,
Jake
