algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi David,
Thanks so much for the latest version of Galapagos! What a fantastic tool.
I am currently using the "reinstate" button quite a lot to explore different versions of a same model. The problem is that when I close the Galapagos window to bake one result, all the other ones disappear when opening it again.
Would it be possible to keep the last Galapagos round in memory so that all the results stay there until one runs the solver again?
Hope it makes sense and that it is relevant,
Arthur

Might not answer your question, but did you see Nathan Miller's post? Could be helpful.

Thanks Taz,
This is brilliant although I have no idea what is the link between SQL and GH ?
Isn't mySQL for doing website database ?
I have downloaded the attached Genome_DB definition from Nathan's website, merged it to my def before running Galapagos but the components turned red. It's a bit difficult to see what's happening from the video. Have you managed to make it work?
Many thanks,
Arthur
Hello Arthur,
You will need to have access to a MySQL database server for this to work. It may be a bit overkill for your purposes, but you can find installation instructions for Slingshot here:

Also, here are a few video tutorials on using the plug-in:

Now to your problem specifically.... they key is to set your definition up to record the Galapagos process. The way I have been doing it is to hook up the "Record" component to the sliders that will be changed by Galapagos. You can also record your fitness function.
After Galapagos runs, you will end up with a list of values which correspond to all of the iterations. You can then do a number of things with that list such as save it to a CSV, export it to Excel, or put it in a database.
