Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to figure out how to draw a polyline connecting/closing the points that I have created (by evaluating a curve).

In my beginner attempt I added a polyline component and selected 'shortest distance' but the result was an interconnected web (see photo)

.
I'm pretty sure I know how to do it if I were to place the points (and select them in order when drawing the polyline) but I have randomly generated points. Can they be connected still? Perhaps using something like a closest point component?

Thanks for any help,
N

Hi N
I think the problem is the order of the random points, maybe if you use the sort component (from the list menu), you could achive the desired result. I made a test for you (it's made with GrassHopper 0.6.0043).
Try ad I hope it will be useful.

That worked wonderfully. Thank you! The sort component seems to be a useful one to know.
