hiding nearest objects

Hello everyone,

     I am working on a class project and have come across a problem. Im new to grasshopper. I am selecting the object nearest to a point, then scaling it. The object then overlaps surrounding objects. I want to hide or join the overlapping objects. I have attached an image and the definition here. I would appreciate any help. I am currently working on the definitions grouped outside of the work plane in the attached ghx file.
