I guess you could make your standard ribs and then perform a boolean subtraction with some boxes.

It looks like the subtractions are made either in the X ribs or in the Y ribs, never in both at the same time. The tricky part is to find a pattern of subtractions that will allow the structure to stand up. In this case there is a pattern... the shortest pieces have at least 4 intersections.
