algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi there,

i´m looking for a normal staircase definition, not a spiral one, just along a curve.

I divided a curve into points, but i have problems with the vectors. it should be 90 degress from the original line. etc etc...

anyone out there????

I recently created a framework-def. in case anyone wants to swap.. ;)

help is really highly appreciated!

nobody?? ok, here is my "creation" one just has to adjust the number of steps according to the lenght of the line. there has to be an easier way though...

I'm not sure what a 'normal stair' is given a curved wall but here's something.

thanks for the reply and the file. Í´d like to use my defintion but i have one problem.

i´d like to create a set of points 90 degrees from the original curve that defines the staircase with the same slope. unfortunately i have no idee, how to achieve that.

there are some note inside the definition

This is already in your definition.  I don't really understand what it is you're trying to do.

Chris

well the thing is if you arrange the line not parallel to the axis it doesn´t work. you get the stairs which is fine but the handrails are offset somewhere on your steps and totally misplaced.

sometimes it works sometimes it doesn´t.. so i thought there has to be another way with 90 degrees thing.

Ooooh!  Look at your first post.  How could anyone do anything constructive with that?

Enjoy.

Chris
