Controlling a Grasshopper model with a custom component

I'm interested in controlling a grasshopper model using a custom component programmed in C# as a VS studio project (e.g. modifying slider values as part of an optimization algorithm, as Galapagos does). I found a post that began discussing this topic, but moved to other topics before addressing this question:

This would be intressting.

 

It would be nice to implement tools like "branch and bound" with slider controll or at least a feedback like galapagos... .
