algorithmic modeling for Rhino

heyho

i have a square grid and an attractor point.

i measured the distance between the gridpoints and attractor point and would like to filter the first 10 points, that are the closest ones to the attractor.

sounds pretty easy - but every time i want to measure the distance between 2 points i need to flatten the list, beacause otherwise there is no length output.

with that problem i am not able to get the points afterwards.

do you guys have any help suggestions. thanks in advance

best regards

Hidihoflow,

hey pieter,

is it possible to collect other items for example planar surfaces?

i often got problems with the data-tree thing...

Hi Flow, do you mean the planar surfaces made from the cell outlines?
You (we) will need to study the data-tree thing to get our results in GH...
See: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/path-mapper-help-1  by Danny Boyes. He's the master botanist around here.
Just thought the distance to the cells Midpts might be the wrong approach to determin the closest cell/planar surface...:
