algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello,
i am just starting to get into grasshopper and luckily found found the explanations on web.me.com/rhino3dtv....
i want to start with a simple loft and tried to follow the instructions of this tutorial:

as shown in the tut i drew two curves in rhino, then generated two curve components in GH and went "set one curve" using the 2 rhino splines.
next i created a loft component and tried to connect the two curve components to the "Loft S (curve) ".
but unlike in the tutorial only one curve is accepted. when i drag the second curve´s output to the loftS input the first wire disappears. am i doing something wrong? i use the latest grasshopper (0.6.0012).

went on viewing gh-videos and found that i have to press the shift-key to input multiple curves....
hey robert,

my method is always to use the merge component to merge two or more streams of data together...in your case, the two curves. when you start to deal with multiple input streams of data this method should make it easier to keep them ordered and organized.. have fun with GH!
Only somewhat related, but I'm having issues keeping my loft to 2-curves only. I'm certain the answer lays somewhere within sorting/lists, but I can't seem to make it work. Here's the deal.

I have a series of profiles, each of which are projected to a curve/surface directly above the profiles. This leaves me with two lists of curves: (1) my first CAD profiles, (2) the curves projected above. I'd like to loft each origin-curve to its' partner project-curve.

Loft wants to connect all of them.

Help? (And yes, I'm just starting out... but thanks much!)

you have to split the list in different "branchs": use a graft tree component in both list and then the loft component...

if that doesnt work, then the tree structure its not the same in both list (you can use the param viewer to compare this), you can use a simplify component or a flatten tree component before the graft tree component to match the tree structure.
Sorry for being -completely- daft, but this ain't working.

More specifically, I can't find 'graft' nor 'flatten' components. And trust me, I've looked through every tab. It's even more frustrating as I've found them (as screenshots) in a number of tutorials.

Is it possible they're hidden? Or that I'm missing them entirely?

Hi J,

if you're still using Grasshopper 0.5.X then you won't find them since they don't exist.

The best way to search for components is to double click somewhere on the canvas (in an empty spot) and just type in the name of the component. If you can't find Graft this way, it doesn't exist.
