Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey All

I have a problem that I do not know how to solve.  In GH, I created a geometry that can be manipulated by sliders.  the real interest is in the geometry it creates when it widens.  I have it built right now to go along a flat plane (starting at 0,0,0).  I want to be able to apply this geometry in this particular pattern to a surface that is to be determined (so more or less any surface).  I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for this.

eventually I would also like the geometry react to the curvature of the surface, but that is another issue all together (although suggestions for that would be awesome.)

I've attached my script for you to see and play with!  thanks for checking!

Probably of only marginal assistance but this modification will but your basic geometry onto the surface.  The next step would be to get the locating points into the pattern you want.  I'm not sure why some of the normal planes have rotated 90 degrees.

Thanks Chris, I am going to try to modify this again to see if i can get it to rotate correctly.  thanks again!

Dan,

I fixed the rotation problem.  There's still the issue of staggering the rows.

I have been building this side by side with your script, also getting help from a few mate's here as well.  this is what I have come up with so far to fix the problems that the first had originally displayed

once again I am not sure why mine is much bigger than your original script.  here is the next stage
