algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I have a little issue with the script I made, that creates a beam from a curve (rail) and a cross section curve. The problem is that you can set one rail curve at a time and in my case I have to be able to produce a series of beams as quick as possible; therefore selecting the cross section curve once and then selecting a series of rail curves.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make this one work... or at least speed it up a bit.

Thank you :)

hi phil!

i would do it like this:

- select once all your rails in one crv component

- select your profile in another crv component

- get the endpoints of each rail

- get the desired point on your profile (to align with the end point of the rails)

- move your profile to each of the end points

- sweep the resulting trees! (note that both your rails and your profiles should be trees!)

hope it helps

maybe there are other ways....

just give it a try...

If you graft the section curve input into the Rail sweep component I think you'll get what you want but you seem to have some excess angles in there that are giving more than one extrusion for each curve set.  I didn't have time to look at that closely.
