Tangent Arc between two curves by input of tan-tan-point

Hi everyone,

I am trying to replicate a command i can carry out in rhino but cannot find an equivalent grasshopper component.

Basically, i want to create an arc segment between two tangent curves by input of —

(1) tangent curve 1

(2) tangent curve 2

(3) point on tangent curve.

This can be carried out in Rhino using the arc command - tangent to curves.

Refer attached.

Does anyone have any ideas how this could be carried out in grasshopper?

-possible workaround with components available?

-execution of same rhino command in grasshopper?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Clayton.

Hi Clayton,

that function doesn't exist in Grasshopper (yet). There are some tangent circle/arc tools, but not that particular one.

Hi Clay, I figured from your pdf the two curves you are talking about are in fact lines, and came up with this workaround definition. Can you test it to see if it behaves like you want?

Thanks for the def. but in this approach you can't set the center arc point. Is it possible to use the same approach "Tangent Arc 2 lines and pt(Center Arc) ?

Best,

A

any chance -there is a gh arc tan tan point workaround yet?

figured it out : using BiArc and start and end tangents.
