algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hey guys,

i have been searching the forum for information on applying random points to a surface, to create a split surface voronoi.

something along the lines of this

can anyone help me please. i have attached my wip defintion and model. i need to extrude the boundary rectangle in the z direction relevant to the surface normal and then hopefully i will be ok but so far i am massively struggling.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi David, I didn't have the patience to go through your definition in depth, so I built it from scratch. I used the image you uploaded as reference, but didn't round it off/filleted it. (I didn't like the holes that it creates at the intersection points.) Hope this helps.
Edit: I sincerely the original creator doesn't mind.

Pieter,

I am exploring something similar, and I was curious what the expression was that you used for the number of random values.

Thanks,

Rich

Hi Richard, it's 2*N, to create equal amounts of x and z coordinates.

Thanks that helps, but I'm getting a few warnings within the definition.  I may be missing something. Would you be able to take a look?

Box 2Pt needs two points ;)
I'm kind of in the middle of something Richard, so here is my file, so you can compare it with yours.
