Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Rajaa, I'm trying to unroll the square pyramids (see attached Rhino file) for laser cutting. Instead of unroll all of the pyramids and each pyramid in 4 triangles, I would like to them to be unrolled and grouped so that there will be every four triangles for each pyramid.

I did this in Grasshopper before. But I don't know if I can do the same using the paneling tool.

Thank you. Mei

Hi Jiangmei,

If I understood you right, here is what I'd do to keep each morph pyramid faces together. Before paneling, join panel faces of the module into one polysurface, then panel. After that when you use ptUnrollFaces, with Explode=No, you should be able to keep faces of each pyramid together.
