Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have just brought an educational version of Rhino 4.0 SR8 and installed it with little problems. I down-loaded the grasshopper plugin and installed that aswell. However, when I type the GH command in rhino, I recieve this message:

Unable to load Grasshopperplugin.rhp plug in: Rhino version not specified

This is where I get confused? Any ideas would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks,

Dave

Can you please run the _TestDotNetMessages command in Rhino, then restart Rhino and try to load Grasshopper again. There should be a lot of information in the Rhino command history this time. I'd like to see what it reads.

I ran the command and then closed the window, re-opened rhino, and entere the gh command and then this message came up:

Rhino4.exe. - .NET Framework Initialization Error

To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:

v4.0.30319

Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaning the appropriate version of the NET Frame work.

I then closed that dialogue box and another came up saying the extact same message.

I closed that box and then the original message appeared.

hope this helps

Dave

Hi Dave,

that is very odd as Grasshopper requires only .NET 3.5, not 4.0. Anyway, if you install .NET 4.0 (and assuming the error message is correct) the problem should be solved. You can get .NET 4.0 here:

or here:
