Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello, Im new in Grasshopper, and I have a 3D model of an auditorium that I would like to replicate in Grasshopper. The problem is I dont know how to make the steps for the auditorium, I ve managed to loft some of them. What I expect is on the first attachement and what I managed on the second.

Thank you!

You didn't internalize your 'Geo' parameter.  If I use your 'guide crvs' from earlier models, I see this mess, which looks like you're tilting the ellipses?  And getting them all tangled up...

The last model I posted above is very simple.  What you do with it is really up to you now.  Do you want to handle a tree of ellipse pairs, arranged and tilted at arbitrary angles?

The very first thing I notice, looking at your code, is that the ellipses are not concentric, as they are expected to be:

Need I look any further?  What are these weird 3D curves?

Sorry, I'm not making sense of your model.

If you want to rotate/tilt a pair of concentric curves (ellipses in this case), they must be rotated around a common center. See "???" group.

Not quite sure what the point is yet?

Thank you, however the point to achieve was to establish a relationship between the "titled" elipses and the last step of the auditorium. The previous definition rotated the elipse and varied that angle because the auditorium has a +12,5 difference with the floor level. The definition before that linked the elipse with the steps, but in plan. In the attachement below is an image of what it would look like.

(What I was trying to simulate was these kind of auditorium)

Here's a version that drops the ellipses completely and uses a single 'MasterCrv' with an 'Offset':

Chopping the steps shorter as they go up is a different ball game.

Thank you very much!! That would be very useful for a local solution, but because I need those ellipses for the future, I tried to merge this definition with the one that I had, by dividing the projected ellipse before rotation, and adding it as the "master curve", but the last step of the auditorium should match the line of the rotated ellipse (for a better explanation I put the attachement below).

My friend, all you have to do now is create one curve.  You can do it!

Thank you Joseph! I managed to do it.

I'm sorry to ask again, but I ve tried to change the definition a little bit, so that the steps could vary in sectors (sometimes there are two more steps) like the pictures below. However I have tried with shatter very poorly, is there a way to do a tween curves between curves that are already tweened?

Thank you!

I'm sorry again too, but you're on your own.
