Tree question

Trying to translate a set of points from one set of curves to another set of curves. I thought that grafting the data from the second set of curves before analysing the point along the curve would solve the probelem but it seems as though I need to create a branch for each vertical line. Then I need to redraw the horizontal curves on the new surface which would obviously involve trees as well. I was hoping not to use a script because I'm sure the tree structures can solve the problem... can anyone help?
