Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I am trying to make sift pattern for irregular shape surface. What i do is, i divide a surface into subsurface and sift into desired pattern.

I managed to do sift pattern for a square (did not control width & height). They worked well. While for the irregular surface (apply control to width & height), i did not manage to pick subsurface based on my sift pattern. They pick and bake every subsurface.

My suspicion is, sift cannot be applied to trimmed surface. Am i missing something? Any idea and thought is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Kim,

Thanks for your reply! Not exactly, but i did learn something from this. Since i am trying to control the size of each subsurface, the way i divide the surface is slightly different.

I am very close to the solution. The only problem is when i bake the blocks, other polysurface are baked together. Any idea?

I don't understand what are you going to do, anyway as long as you are going to use "split surface" without flatten your curve input, you'll probably get odd result.

Kim,

Understood. Thanks for the tips!
