algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I was wondering if there's a way to find/highlight the heaviest loaded element in a model.

I know how to get the highest loads (N, M and V) and a way to find the corresponding index (which I guess equals the element tags), but with a model with thousands of elements it's quite hard to actually find in the model. Especially because the model exists of line- and shell-elements and all of the structure tags somehow are hidden behind the shells.

So, is there a way to select/highlight/find the heaviest loaded element in a model?

Hi Merijn,

you could try this: search through the meshes which result when rendering the elements utilization and draw a sphere about the vertex where the color corresponds to the maximum of the color legend.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

Thanks for your reply! It's not quite what I had in mind, but I'll try it this way.

Thanks,

Merijn
