Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey everyone,

I'm running an energy simulation in grasshopper, so I'm trying to find different combinations of WWR. Therefore I'm trying to scale the windows just on the Z direction, but keeping the reference point on their bases (sill).

When I use the "Scale NU" in the Z direction the windows detach from the façade plane. If I use the proportional scale, all the windows are scaled from their center.

Is there a way to just change their head height, but keeping the sill and the side boundaries steady?

Thank you in advance. I've attached the model and the script.

Something like this?

Hi Kim,

Perfect! Thanks for your help...I just would like the sill to be fixed instead of the window head height. In addition, I still would need to keep the component "solid difference" since I'm studying daylighting in the model. Do you think it's possible? So the information on the GWR would change according to the scaling.

Thank you.

Of course you can use "SDiff" but, as you can see, that is more computationally expensive way.

If I were you, I would not use it.

Hey Kim,

That's awesome! Thanks a lot for your help. Yeah...I noticed that unfortunately. Well, for energy simulations I don't need the difference though. Just for the daylighting ones.

Thank again.

Hi Kim,

When I rotate the planes horizontally in Rhino the script is not able to follow, so the planes get messed up. Dou you know how to solve this?

Thank you.

If you changed the 3dm file, you are the one who knows the cause of the problem.

If you think carefully, you will find the answer easily and it might not be a problem.
