Offset on surface sluggish RAM response

Hi all,

I am having problems with the offset on surface module. On the first run after booting up my computer (8Gb RAM with i7 quad core) it takes up to 4 hours to run through, however on following runs it can come down to less than ten minutes in total. The problem seems to be with how slowly Rhino is ramping up the amount RAM it is making use of. When I first start Grashopper, Rhino is operating on around 200Mb of RAM. When I start the file this starts to increase, but VERY slowly. If I leave it running over night it will be up to around 4Gb the next day, having taken about 4 hours to run. The next run will be quicker, maybe half an hour, and will bring the RAM up to around 5Gb and subsequent runs improve the run time and RAM use further, but when I have to shut down (it over heats after running at this level for a couple of days), it is back to the beginning.

The attached files are an accurate representation of what I am trying to do on a much smaller scale (the patch is required), so it might be worth discussing the problem further in terms of the example, as the larger file would just get confusing.

Is there a known problem that explains this? I wondered if one solution might be to set the RAM being used by Rhino up to the required level before starting the solution, or maybe running another module which ramps up the RAM more quickly. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated as I am nearing the end of a masters project and resolving this would make a massive difference.
