algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Having trouble translating one method of generating a terrain with another. I'm trying to shift the z-axis of a series of points that exist within a particular surface shape in order to create a terrain. My source file for this elevation data exists as an image file and when I try to apply the z values to my surface points I get a null error (because my image file is a rectangle and my surface shape is not, there are points that obviously contain no data) which makes sense but I'm not sure how to reconcile this. Could someone help shed a little light on this challenge for me? Thanks!

Make sure that you picture domain matches your points domain!
so the thing I'm trying to solve is when I use a picture to plot points it always creates a rectangular object, the terrain that I'm trying to generate is non-rectilinear. In one of the screenshots I included the image generated terrain and the the actual boundaries that I want to map to. Is there a way to take the points that are generated from the image and then apply them to the points within my shape? I'm assuming there will be a fair amount of point culling in order to get both point sets to match? thanks!
