Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone.

I want to tessellate the curved surface below with equally sized (solar) panels.

Is there a way to find an approximation of the picture below, with equally sized panels?

Thanks.

have you found the solution?

It is impossible to divide a surface like this into equal quads. How would you imagine that? You can achive more or less even divisions, but it highly depends on the way you construct the surface. If you use curves, then the points on the curve should be evenly distributed. After, you can also try rebuilding the surface to achive even distribution of the isocurves of the surface. Finally, you will achive even divisions in a sense that quads would not be distorted too much.

Hope it helps. Correct me if I am wrong.

maybe not I have a question do you how apply or know the size of the panel? I have no computer in this moment to test I mean if i want apply panels with 1 m x 2 m a not panels with a  random size.
