Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I know there has been several discussions on this but I am still rather confused about two parts of this.

The attached definition is putting circles at the corners of a square grid, how could I change this so that it began to offset them every other row so you get a more staggered effect? I have tried replacing the bottom grid with the triangulated grid and was not successful, it deformed the circle.

Also, there are very few shapes with a similar "set up" as the circle I have in here, it is a primitive shape. I found the eclipse has the same "set up" and I was able to make that work but it was not exactly what I wanted to see. Would it be possible to set this up so that it uses a custom shape? basically I am wanting more of a tab shape you would see with as a perforation.

Please note I am running the same definition twice in one file, so that I can manipulate the "solid" and "void" perforation settings separately. But it will only let me attach three files so one of the images is missing (it is just the inverse of the attached one)

Thanks!
