Surface pattern with attractor and gradient fade.

Hi all,

I've been working on a volume that I've broken down into around 30 faces, trimmed and untrimmed.

I'm hoping to recreate the logic of attached IMG 01 however my volume and faces are a little more complicated.

As shown in IMG 02 I'm looking to subdivide each surface into a grid of rectangles, these subdivisions/rectangles should be of similar dimensions on all faces. Then I'm thinking I'll using rectangle mapping to transform whatever geometry I decide to map to the surfaces whethers thats diamonds, circles etc and use attractors to rescale them. Pull/Project the results from the untrimmed surfaces to the smoother trimmed surfaces (ideally).

Alternatively a mesh might be more appropriate but I'm not very familar with meshing...

I've also attached a defintion with the surfaces if anyone can point me in the correct direction!

Thank you in advance!

I've had another look this morning, perhaps it's as simple as a Lunchbox dia-grid or I'll have to untried the surface into a rectangle and apply a region difference/selection.
