algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Everyone,
I've been experimenting with the definitions in this thread: Skeletal Mesh to try to create a keyboard case using Voronoi 3D. Attached is the definition from that thread that I've been having the most success with (created by Vincente Soler), but I want the final mesh to be strictly defined by the original mesh boundary. Below are some images of my current results.
You can see the original defining mesh in red and the resulting Voronoi skeletal mesh in green. The skeletal mesh is only loosely constrained by the original boundary, but I want it to look more like this image:
Here you can clearly see the original cube this person used to define the mesh in the final product.
Can anyone help me?

This works amazingly, thank you so much! I have one question though. The resulting mesh bakes just fine, but some parts are a little thin for 3D printing. I used weaverbird's mesh thicken component and then the join and weld mesh component and now my mesh won't bake. Any ideas as to why it wouldn't bake anymore?
There is another line thickening tool by Daniel Piker and David Stasiuk named "Exoskeleton"
But the thickness control is a little bit tricky.
You'll need Exoskeleton and Topologizer
So weaverbird's mesh thicken can't just create a new thicker mesh from the original that your definition generated? I'm not familiar with some of the components that you're using, but I'll be able to thicken the mesh with the 'start radius' on your third to last component? Thanks again for making a definition for me!
For some reason my meshes are not turning out as nicely as yours. The mesh turns out thinner in some areas like this:
And in another model the meshes are not offsetting uniformly, like this:
Do you have any idea why this is happening? Could it be the way I'm constructing my Breps? I attached a file with the 2 objects I'm trying to use the definition on.
